Welcome to Gay and Married

Hello and welcome to my site.

I created this site in September 2006 as a support web page for anyone who is going through the agonising trauma of finding out that their husband/wife/partner is gay.

To date; WOW just look at the counter - over 10,000 hits on the site. 20+ people a day, it doesn't sound a lot but it does show that there are more people than we think who are in the same situation.

When I went through it in 1996, the Gay scene was just emerging and becoming socially acceptable, there were support groups for Gay and Lesbians but nothing for the partners.

After 14years together and two children my ex husband told me he was gay. It took me 6 years later to leave. You can read my story on the following pages.

Going through this terrible time in your life can bring out an array of emotions and feelings, a little bit like berievement the disbelief, the anger the resentment then the acceptance, it is a long and painful process.

I can't change the situation but what I can do is listen and talk to you about it. I can identify with most of what you are going through and answer most questions. It really helps if you can talk to someone.
